All you Need to Know about Anxiety

What are the key symptoms of anxiety? They fall into five categories: physical symptoms, anxious thoughts, behavioural symptoms, emotional symptoms and interpersonal symptoms. This blog looks at each category in turn.

Managing anxiety can be simple, once you know how. This article looks at some of the most important and effective steps you can take and changes you can introduce into your life that will really make a difference quickly.

Is it possible to be completely anxiety free in our daily lives? To live our lives as relaxed as if we were lying in a hammock on a tropical beach?! Well, no. This blog explains how we shouldn’t expect to – anxiety itself is a healthy condition – a biological mechanism (called the fight or flight response) that helps us react quickly to dangerous events. It also goes through SIX POWERFUL WAYS TO BEAT ANXIETY.

Social anxiety disorder is not just shyness – it is more severe than that. Social anxiety is Anxiety particularly around being with other people and causes problems such as difficulty talking in a confident relaxed way to others, feeling self-consciousness in front of other people and feelings of embarrassment, fear that other people will judge you, worry for days or weeks before an public event, avoidance of public places and crowds and difficulty making and keeping friends.

Anxiety is sometimes categorised into different “anxiety disorders such as generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic attacks, OCD, PTSD and phobias. There is significant overlap between these categories and this blog looks at the similarities and differences.
